Breathless (1960)

A beautiful, sweeping example of the French New Wave, Jean-Luc Godard’s indie masterpiece rewrote every rule of narrative construction & revitalized a medium, paradigmatically and stylishly-liberating the once-caged artform of cinema. 10/10.

Plot Synopsis: Michel, a fan of Humphrey Bogart and thugs, goes a little too far and accidentally kills a police officer. He goes to Paris to hide with one of his girlfriends, American journalist Patricia, and try to gather enough money for them to high-tail it to Italy. However, when Patricia learns of Michel’s past, she questions her loyalties to him and to the law.
