A surprisingly-saccharine, ‘hart’-warming father/daughter dramedy with an against-type KH in one of his most serious roles, FTHD does the unthinkable – combat one of the longest-normalized forms of unspoken gender-discrimination by society: fathers aren’t just inept, detached, trivial ATM’s to be unappreciated and derogatorily second-fiddled, but humans capable of love, emotion, and taking care of the children they bring into the world [w/o needing a mother to do so]. 7.1/10.
