Malignant (2021)

Though respectably a batsh*t crazy/subversive indie project when his post-AQM success could’ve gotten him a greenlight on whatever kingdom IP he’d chosen, Wan returns to horror roots – along with a perplexingly-miscast lineup, sadly only fractional scare-factor and originality compared to his paralyzing Conjuring/Sinister/Insidious/Saw filmography of new classics. 4.5/10.

Plot Synopsis: Paralyzed by fear from shocking visions, a woman’s torment worsens as she discovers her waking dreams are terrifying realities.
