Though clearly a Five Nights At Freddy’s x Chucky knockoff with bizarre genre-kitsch character-shifts & illogic/loose-ends (black guy refuses to go in one moment, but leads the exploration and wants to stay the next? why/how do plastic robot animatronics need to eat humans? why the timed soda pop and pinball fetish?), Willy’s evokes the batsh*t no-rules fun and cheesy gore-camp of ’80’s B-movie comedy/scarefests – a great execution of the evil Chuck E. Cheese concept exploiting the childhood nostalgiabait itch, led by an epic franchise-making set of charismatic evil animatronics given plenty of spotlight/shine. Oh, and Nicolas Cage ofc. 8/10.
