Spiral: From The Book Of Saw (2021)

A series that never quite realized its full potential outside of Wan’s perplexing, palpably-pungent, practically-passable original and the iconographical spectre of its games’ patriarch gets a new beginning – one of visual stylism, lore homages, elegy, and thrills offset by predictability, bad ending, and miscast lead. 4/10.

Plot Synopsis: Working in the shadow of his father, Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks and his rookie partner take charge of an investigation into grisly murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
