A series that never quite realized its full potential outside of Wan’s perplexing, palpably-pungent, practically-passable original and the iconographical spectre of its games’ patriarch gets a new beginning – one of visual stylism, lore homages, elegy, and thrills offset by predictability, bad ending, and miscast lead. 4/10.

Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
