Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (Ep. I)

A mixed beginning for the prequel series to one of the greatest trilogies in cinematic history, TPM boasts visceral 21st-century action scenes like pod-racing, a strong villain in Darth Maul, and its own identity – but fails by a miscast young Anakin, writing & acting pedigree dilution, juvenile raison-d’être, and one of the worst characters of all-time: Jar-Jar Binks. 4/10.

Plot Synopsis: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is a young apprentice Jedi knight under the tutelage of Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) ; Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), who will later father Luke Skywalker and become known as Darth Vader, is just a 9-year-old boy. When the Trade Federation cuts off all routes to the planet Naboo, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are assigned to settle the matter.
