The Sandlot (1993)

An All-Time classic baseball/sports movie and coming-of-age story, The Sandlot is the definitive Summer and nostalgia-inducing movie. 8.7/10

Plot Synopsis: When Scottie Smalls (Thomas Guiry) moves to a new neighborhood, he manages to make friends with a group of kids who play baseball at the sandlot. Together they go on a series of funny and touching adventures. The boys run into trouble when Smalls borrows a ball from his stepdad that gets hit over a fence.

Pros: Amazing sense and overwhelmingly satisfying capturing of Nostalgia, Americana as kids in the summertime, and our national pastime in its glory days: baseball, solid acting even for a family movie, great coming-of-age story packed with morals like social acceptance and conquering fears, strong script and ending tieing everything together

Cons: The Beast chase scene a little underwhelming due to his actual size
